1⁄35Tamiya Wespe - Kursk

This model was my entry in a group build for the 75th anniversary of the battle of Kursk. The model is Tamiya's Wespe model with a metal barrel from Voyager and the PE upgrade set from Royal Models. The crew have been converted from the MiniArt German SPG Crew set.
I had always wanted to make a Wespe, and also wanted to do an SPG crew in action. I thought this would be a great way to present the Wespe, and it fit with the Kursk group build so was perfect.
All up this build took me about 2 months, and I am pleased with the end result.

Well done, Steven. I really like the camo scheme you used for this one and I think the interior fighting compartment painting and weathering is fantastic.
Cheers!

Well done, indeed! I agree with the previous comment, plus, I like the poses of the crew. They actually look as though they're reacting to the blast of the gun.

Nicely done! It is great to see that such craftsman-like kits as this Tamiya are still so appreciated so long after their release. This is undoubtedly because it is arguably the only mass-market desirable kit of this vehicle on the market even now; this in spite of the market share erosion posed by the plethora of Chinese companies now competing for our money. I personally would like to see more reviews and updates that are offered on these legacy kits as we all probably have many of them squirreled-away in some corner waiting bench time.

Thanks mate, really appreciate it!
Cheers! Luckily there are some pretty decent reference pics of a Wespe firing at Kursk!
Thanks! This was actually my first Tamiya kit, and I enjoyed its simple and fast build a great deal. Truthfully, if there was a Dragon or Meng alternative, I would likely have gotten that, but I am very glad I got this one, as it has shown me that Tamiya kits still have a place today.
