Introduction
Telegraph Poles are a new lineside accessory from NOCH. The set, item 13160, contains four (4) plastic poles and a length of elastic thread.

Telegraph Poles
These telegraph or telephone towers are injection molded and pre-painted.

They represent a German design constructed of a wooden pole with a metal cross arm, and "J"-shaped outer insulator posts. Please see Click here for additional images for this review, below, for photos of this design.

The poles are each molded as a single piece. Each has a tapered mounting spike molded on the base.

NOCH includes in the set a length of elastic thread to simulate the telegraph/telephone lines.

I can not find information about the spacing between these poles but I suspect that 100 feet/30 meters is appropriate.

Conclusion
Communication poles paralleling railways date back 150 years. It is rare to see a any track without a line. Thus Telegraph Poles from NOCH offer modelers ready-made communication poles that are essential to authentic railway modeling. The poles are painted. making them ready to use. Nothing can stop a modeler from repainting or weathering these poles to meet their vision of accuracy. I appreciate NOCH including the line material. Four poles per pack does not seem like enough.

Telegraph Poles is a good way to erect these ubiquitous lineside structures as ready-to-use. The string will enhance the poles. Recommended.
